At this advanced level, gymnasts connect strength with control, building on the fundamentals developed in earlier stages. They refine execution, master body shapes, and take on advanced skills such as back handsprings, stronger vaults, and high bar progressions. Beyond physical technique, Level 3 introduces a mental challenge—learning to link multiple elements seamlessly while maintaining confidence and focus.
What skills you will learn?
- Front handspring vault over mat and sole circle dismount
- Squat on and cartwheel on beam
- Side handstand ¼ turn dismount on beam
- Round-off back handspring and front handspring
Prerequisites
- Handstand flatback vault
- Chin-up pullover and cast back hip circle
- Handstand and side handstand on beam
- Round-off rebound, straight-arm backward roll, and bridge kickover
Frequently asked questions
You & your student are more than welcome to come to the front desk to ask about your student’s scores! We keep track of their skill progressions through a star system to help us know when each student is ready to move up to the next level.
Not at all! In our gymnastics classes, it’s completely normal for kids to be stronger in some events than others – we switch up our lesson plans every month & our coaches are great at keeping every child engaged and challenged.
(Advanced Junior – Level 3): Classes begin with a 10 minute warm up game & a 5 minutes stretch. After that, classes will do two 20 minute rotations that switch off every week (either Bars & Vault OR Beam & Floor)
Yes, Level 3 requires Level 2 as a prerequisite. If your student has previous gymnastics experience at another gym please contact us to schedule an evaluation.
Give us a call & we can set up an evaluation to see where your student fits best into our curriculum. Evaluations are about 15 minutes, one – on – one with a coach. Evaluations scheduled with the front desk.
